Dr. Edward S. Glaser, DPM is a podiatrist, foot biomechanist, and the inventor of MASS Posture Theory. Over the course of his 40-year career, Dr. Glaser has earned a celebrated national and international reputation for re-envisioning and re-engineering foot orthotics, as well as the way practitioners correct biomechanics in the foot and lower extremity — and, ultimately, the entire body. MASS Posture Theory is a unique look at managing foot biomechanics from an engineering perspective that prevents full-postural collapse. His research and findings have been published in the Foot and Ankle Online Journal and other publications, and have been taught at dozens of podiatric and chiropractic colleges. He has also lectured at over 1,500 medical and state society meetings worldwide.
Dr. Glaser began his professional career studying mechanical engineering at SUNY Stony Brook and went on to receive his doctorate in podiatry at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. For 13 years, he led a thriving clinical practice out of Middle Tennessee, but ultimately, chose to walk away from that success to challenge orthopedic conventions with the development of MASS Posture Theory. Thirty years and over a million pairs of orthotics later, Dr. Glaser has made his life’s mission a reality with Sole Supports, the custom orthotics lab he founded in 1992, which operates under the core value: “We make people better.”
Since 2014, Dr. Glaser has expanded his biomechanics research to develop Relax, Release, Relief (RRR), a series of manual release techniques designed to mechanically interrupt the positive feedback loops that affect the body’s connective tissue and account for most instances of chronic pain. Dr. Glaser offers his RRR techniques free of charge with the objective of correcting patients’ posture and making a life-changing difference for those experiencing chronic pain.
